A Free City-Wide Event Offering Food, Resources, Entertainment, and Support to Houston Families and Surrounding Communities
Houston, TX — October 22, 2024 — COHAP Outreach Corporation is excited to invite the Houston community and surrounding areas to its Sharing the Harvest Fall Festival, a free event focused on supporting families in need. The festival will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 12 PM to 3 PM at the Shrine of The Black Madonna Cultural Event Center, located at 5309 Martin Luther King Blvd, Houston, TX 77021.
Designed to bring vital resources, food, and entertainment to underserved families, this community-wide event will feature live performances, raffle giveaways, and access to key services. The event is expected to attract a broad range of attendees, including city officials, veterans, and local families. Vendors such as Exotic Pop, Pure Justice, and others will be participating, with all vendor fees going directly toward COHAP’s housing project to provide shelter for homeless families. Each vendor’s contribution will fund a hotel room for a family in need.
Natasha Wilson, Founder and CEO of COHAP Outreach Corporation, shared her vision for the festival, stressing the importance of community unity in times of need:
“The Sharing the Harvest Fall Festival isn’t just about food and fun—it’s about coming together to make a real difference in people’s lives. We’re here to offer not just resources, but also hope and connection. It’s through collective effort and compassion that we can truly make an impact on our community. This event is a celebration of that unity.”
The festival will include:
- Holiday food boxes for families in need
- Live music and dance performances
- A panel of speakers discussing important issues such as mental health, PTSD, substance abuse, and domestic violence
- Raffle giveaways
- Food trucks and a DJ to keep the event lively
- A special military tribute by the University of Houston SROTC
- A variety of resource and merchandise vendors
“We are anticipating a fantastic turnout this year,” Wilson continued. “It’s a chance for our community to come together, support one another, and raise awareness of the deeper issues that many people face. By addressing immediate needs like food, and tackling broader challenges like mental health and domestic violence, we hope to provide real, meaningful support.”
